Nicola Davies’ first job was studying humpback whales in the wild, her second was as the presenter of The Really Wild Show.

She has been writer for more than 25 years and is the author of more than 80 books for children and young people, including poetry, non fiction, picture books and novels. Her work has been published in more than 10 different languages and won awards in the UK, US, Europe and Asia.

Her picture book The Promise was made into an animated film for the BBC, her recent poetry collection ‘Choose Love’ has been shortlisted for the Yoto Carnegie award for writing. Her latest book Blue Heart is a collection of words and illustrations about her many encounters with whales.
